Gucci Mane's Probation Ends Two Years Early

  /  09.06.2017

Two years ahead of his probation, Gucci Mane has been granted early termination. As a result, he will be a free man as of Sept. 19, according to The FADER.

Last month, Guwop’s legal team filed court documents to end his probation period early and the motion was not opposed. Judge Steve C. Jones signed the papers on Aug. 23.

Just last year, the Wopster was sentenced to three years probation for a gun charge conviction after he pled guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in 2014. He served time in prison and paid a $5,000 fine.

After his release, Gucci said that prison changed his life. “I needed to see it,” he explained. “It’s a big deterrence. It made me say, ‘I don’t wanna come back here, ever. I’ll change my whole life not to come back here.'”

Fresh off winning his first VMA for Fifth Harmony’s “Down,” Guwop is set to release his new album, Mr. Davis, on Sept. 15 featuring The Weeknd, Big Sean, Monica, ScHoolboy Q, and Chris Brown. His first book, The Autobiography of Gucci Mane, arrives in bookstores on Sept. 19.
