Drake & Justin Bieber Join Hurricane Relief Telethon
Drake and Justin Bieber have been added to the star-studded lineup for “Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief.”
Originally organized by Bun B and Scooter Braun to benefit Hurricane Harvey victims in Houston, the telethon’s name was changed to a “Hurricane Relief” event due to the pending effects of Hurricane Irma, according to TMZ.
Following Hurricane Harvey, Drake donated $200,000 to relief efforts as part of a fundraiser organized by Houston Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt. “To the resilient people of Houston and the entire state of Texas, I would like to send you all of our love and all of our prayers,” said Drizzy. “To the brave men and women that have assisted in aide, relief, and rescue, your actions are truly heroic.”
The telethon will also feature Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Kelly Rowland, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, George Clooney, Barbra Streisand, and Reese Witherspoon, along with Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, Sofia Vergara, Tim McGraw, and Faith Hill.
Other confirmed celebrities include Tori Kelly, Karlie Kloss, Rob Lowe, Matthew McConaughey, Dennis Quaid, Adam Sandler, Ryan Seacrest, and Michael Strahan.
“Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief” is scheduled to take place and air live on Sept. 12 at 8 p.m. ET across ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CMT, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
