New Music: Dame D.O.L.L.A. feat. Lil Wayne - 'Run It Up'

  /  09.22.2017

Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard, who raps under his Dame D.O.L.L.A. alias, reunites with Lil Wayne on “Run It Up.”

Over Scott Storch’s hard-hitting instrumental, Dame unleashes rhymes about his hustle, muscle, and current whereabouts. “I’m from where Golden State at,” he raps. “But Portland where I lay at / I’m the Daddy Mac, Mac Daddy with hoop and rappin’ / Y’all be on your Kris Kross, hustlin’ backwards.”

Following a chorus with Tunechi, Dame passes the ball to Weezy for the second verse, where Wayne rhymes about bubble butts, double cups, and pulling stunts. “Yada yada,” he raps. “Young Mula, kiss my such-and-such.”

In the past, Dame and Tune collaborated on “Loyal to the Soil” off D.O.L.L.A.’s debut project, The Letter O, which also featured appearances from Jamie Foxx, Marsha Ambrosius, Raphael Saadiq, and Juvenile.

Dame is now prepping for the release of his next album, Confirmed, which will drop on the same day as his new signature shoe, the adidas Dame 3s. Fans can expect both to arrive on Oct. 6.

Meanwhile, Lillard is also gearing up for a new year with his day job, as a point guard for the Blazers. The team kicks off its 2017 pre-season against the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 3.
