Kendrick Lamar & Drake Celebrate Chance the Rapper's Grammy Wins

  /  02.13.2017

Chance the Rapper was blessed with his first three Grammys on Sunday (Feb. 12), but he wasn’t the only one excited about the wins.

Before and after the ceremony, in which he won Best New Artist, Best Rap Performance for “No Problem,” and Best Rap Album for Coloring Book, the Chicago rapper received congratulatory notes from his peers including Drake and Kendrick Lamar.

“CONGRATS BOI,” wrote the 6 God. “WELL DESERVED. I AM IN MANCHESTER HAVING A DRINK FOR U BROSKI. MORE MORE MORE.”

“Love you bro,” Chance replied. “I’m hearing amazing things about tour.”

Meanwhile, Kendrick let him know he was “rooting” for him before the show and congratulated him afterwards. “Congrats bro,” wrote K-Dot. “God is moving!”

“He is,” replied Chano. “Love u brother! Thanks for always taking care of us.”

Chance joins the Grammy club — Kendrick has seven gramophones, while Drake now has three, two of which he picked up last night for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song, both for “Hotline Bling.”

Kendrick was absent from the show, but was tuned in. Like others, he too wasn’t pleased to see Adele’s 25 beat Beyoncé’s LEMONADE for Album of the Year. “I just spoke to kdot,” tweeted TDE President Punch. “He’s really up set about the Queen B not getting her album of the year trophy.”

As for Chance, his night wasn’t just a trophy celebration. He also made his Grammy stage debut, performing a medley of “How Great,” “Blessings,” “No Problem,” and “All We Got” with Kirk Franklin, Francis and the Lights, Tamela Mann, Nico “Trumpet” Segal, and a choir.

YG, who has yet to win a Grammy, also celebrated Chance’s big wins. “I was watching the Grammys like [middle finger emoji],” he tweeted. “Chance lit ass fuck tho [champagne bottle emoji].”
