Chance the Rapper Makes Rock Chart Debut

  /  10.20.2017

Chance the Rapper is making his first appearance on a Billboard Rock chart thanks to his collaboration with Francis and the Lights.

Originally released last year as part of Francis’ Farewell, Starlite!, “May I Have This Dance” was remixed by Chano this year. He also appears in the dance-heavy video, which arrived back in May.

After being promoted to radio, the song opened at No. 48 on the Rock Airplay chart, thanks to 1.1 million audience impressions, according to Billboard.

Taking to Twitter, Chance seemed to indicate that the song’s ascent came from his Rapper Radio initiative, which pushes for radio play. “Try https://rapperradio.com,” he wrote.

Chano and Francis previously collaborated on Coloring Book’s standout “Summer Friends.”

“May I Have This Dance” is just the latest Chance-related success story. Earlier this week, the Rapper also opened his first three Grammys, celebrating the achievement with his daughter’s help.

Up next, the Chicago rapper will perform as part of the first-ever Obama Foundation Summit in Chicago on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
