Joey Bada$$ Announces Sophomore Album 'All-Amerikkkan Bada$$'

  /  03.02.2017

After touting himself a “better rapper” than Tupac Shakur, Joey Bada$$ sets out to stake his claim with his sophomore album, All-Amerikkkan Bada$$.

Badmon announced the title and release date in a politically-charged video, which finds the rapper holding a baseball bat in a desert while “The Star-Spangled Banner” plays softly in the background.

Following images of children running on grass and a cross burning, Joey takes a baseball bat and shatters a sheet of glass with the American flag painted on it.

Due April 7 — a nod to Pro Era’s “47” logo — the album follows a long line of hip-hop releases with America stylized as “Amerikkka,” including Ice Cube’s Amerikkka’s Most Wanted, Capital STEEZ’s Amerikkkan Korruption, and Spice 1’s Amerikkka’s Nightmare.

AABA serves as Joey’s second album, following his 2015 debut B4.Da.$$. He recently warmed fans up for All-Amerikkkan Bada$$ with the release of his anti-Trump anthem “Land of the Free” and gold-certified single “Devastated.”

“People will definitely feel an elevated, evolved Joey,” Joey told Rap-Up last year. “It’s gonna be way more high energy, high performance. I’m really just gonna speak for my generation.”
