New Music: H.E.R. - 'My Song'

H.E.R. caps off a banner year with “My Song,” a new track about love, home, and the power of music over soothing instrumentation.

Backed by moving piano keys, the artist formerly known as Gabi Wilson delivers a stirring vocal performance.

“Let me sing my song,” she sings. “I know this is my home / All that I’ve been wishing / I found what I’ve been missing / Right here from the start / So let me sing my song.”

In June, the mysterious songbird released H.E.R. 2, followed by Vol. 2 — The B Sides EP in October. Both came after last year’s H.E.R., Vol. 1 EP.
