Cozz Drops Debut Album 'Effected' Featuring Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole

  /  02.13.2018

Cozz is here. After rising through the ranks, the Los Angeles MC’s star-studded debut album Effected arrives today via Dreamville/Interscope.

Cody Macc taps Kendrick Lamar (“Hustla’s Story”), J. Cole (“Zendaya”), and Curren$y (“Badu”) for the 14-track project, which follows 2014’s Cozz & Effect and 2016’s Nothin Personal.

The South Central native opened up about the creative process behind his debut in his Cozz: Effected documentary. “When I made this project, I wasn’t thinking of nobody else,” he said. “I wasn’t listening to nobody else, I wasn’t even comparing myself to nobody else. I was just competing against myself.”

According to Cozz, the collection represents his best work yet and shows his true potential. “I’m pushing myself more than I pushed myself in anything,” he added. “I think this album is the best Cozz to date. I got a lot more work to do. I’m just getting started.”
