Chance the Rapper Talks Donald Glover & Young Thug Collaborations

  /  04.09.2018

Chance the Rapper has “No Problem” collaborating. While shooting the video for his G Herbo and Lil Uzi Vert collaboration “Everything (Remix),” Lil Chano opened up about other tracks and projects on the horizon.

Speaking with Beats 1, Chance the Rapper said he isn’t exactly working on his next solo project. “I’m in the same boat I’ve always been in,” he said. “I’ve never had a big drawn out plan for how shit was gonna go. I’m more in a collaborative frame of mind.”

He’s teaming up with some familiar faces. “Francis and the Lights, we’re working on something,” he said. “Me and Thug been making songs forever. We got so many songs. We’ve been talking about dropping something together. The same thing with Donald Glover…I got a lot of people. I’ve just been making songs.”

Chance has collaborated with these artists in the past. Francis and the Lights teamed up with Chano on “Dear Thosodia – Reprise,” “Summer Friends,” and “May I Have This Dance (Remix).” Thugger joined Chance on “Big B’s” and “Mixtape.”

Meanwhile, Childish Gambino has also teased a joint project with his “Worst Guys” collaborator for quite some time. When asked if his new music will be inspired by socio-political issues of the day, Chance said he’s more inspired by something else.

“When I’m talking, I don’t really care,” he said. “I grew up in a high school open mic space, so we were very keen on respecting people around us, understanding that there’s a lot of different views. I don’t be as radical in my music, but my new raps, I be talking about ass a lot. That’s my new shit. I can’t even lie.”

Chance will also appear in the video for G Herbo’s “Everything (Remix)” off Humble Beast Deluxe. Meanwhile, Herbo is prepping his Southside-produced Swervo LP. Chano said they also have “some cool shit for Chicago” and “some cool shit for mental health” coming up this month.
