Lil Wayne and Birdman Hit the Studio After Settlement

  /  06.09.2018

Despite his settlement with Cash Money, Lil Wayne seemingly has no bad blood with Birdman.

Weezy was spotted in the studio with the Cash Money CEO at The Hit Factory in Miami just this week. Cash Money producer DRoc shared a photo on Instagram of Wayne and someone who is reportedly Birdman, although his face is hidden.

DRoc captioned the pic “‘Father like son’ We speak things into existence,” a reference to Wayne and Birdman’s 2006 joint album Like Father Like Son. It’s unconfirmed if that really is Birdman pictured, but DRoc earlier posted a photo of the Cash Money boss with his daughter.

As previously reported, Wayne scored a settlement in his legal battle against Cash Money. Wayne’s attorney dismissed the suit after the rapper was awarded a reported eight-figure payday. The money reportedly came from Universal Records and not Birdman.

“Per our settlement agreement, the matter has been amicably resolved to the satisfaction of all parties,” said Wayne’s attorney Ron Sweeney. “In terms of the particulars, we’re prohibited legally from saying anything further. I can say that my client is happy. He is his own man, a man that owns his assets, his music, and himself. At some point, Wayne will let his fans know what’s going to happen next.”

As part of the deal, Wayne’s long-awaited Tha Carter V will finally see a release. The album, which has been finished for some time, may feature a collaboration with Justin Bieber and French Montana. “Gotta a crazy joint with lil Wayne and Justin Bieber on carter 5,” tweeted French. “The goat is back.”
