Drake Credited as Co-Writer on Kanye West's 'Yikes'

Drake has officially been credited as a co-writer on Kanye West’s “Yikes.”

The credits for Kanye West’s albums, ye and Kids See Ghosts with Kid Cudi, have been updated to reflect new names. As previously rumored, Drake has been confirmed as a lyricist and composer on “Yikes,” according to Pitchfork.

Among the 11 credited lyricists on “Yikes” are Mike Dean, Ayub Ogada, and James Mbarack Achieng. Pie’rre Bourne and Apex Martin are newly credited as producers of the song, which samples Black Savage’s “Kothbiro.”

Other credits show PARTYNEXTDOOR as a featured artist, composer, and lyricist on ye‘s “Wouldn’t Leave.” Wiley and Skepta are listed as composers and lyricists on “I Thought About Killing You.” Consequence, CyHi the Prynce, and Malik Yusef are credited as co-writers on multiple songs on ye.

Additionally, the credits for Pusha-T’s Daytona list JAY-Z as a composer and lyricist on “The Games We Play” and “Infrared,” which sample Reasonable Doubt‘s “Politics As Usual” and Kingdom Come‘s “The Prelude,” respectively.

As Pitchfork points out, Kanye was credited on Drake’s 2016 diss track “Two Birds, One Stone,” which took aim at Kid Cudi and Pusha-T. Push responded to Drake on “Infrared” off Daytona, which prompted Drake’s “Duppy Freestyle.” Pusha fired back with “The Story of Adidon.”
