New Music: BURNS, A$AP Rocky, & Sabrina Claudio - 'Energy'

BURNS, A$AP Rocky, and Sabrina Claudio bring all the feels on their new collaboration “Energy.”

Over the house-inspired beat, produced by BURNS, Rocky flexes his vocal chops as he shows off his chemistry with Sabrina, who adds her ethereal vocals. “Oh, it’s not just me / Don’t deny all this energy,” she sings.

During an interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, BURNS revealed how the track came together. “It was a beat that I made maybe a year ago,” said the British producer. “When I made it, I knew that it was something kind of special. It was in that house-y world, but it also had this urban feel to it too, and I wanted to do something crazy with the feature on there. I knew that it needed something very special to kind of bring it to life, and to bring it into this… I guess, it’s the American climate. I feel like we’re ready to dance now.”

Added Sabrina, “We would like to say we’re honored to have A$AP singing for the first time on our song. It’s super amazing…I was just so excited about it because I don’t normally write to dance, house music, but I was like, ‘Oh, I like this one.'”

Sabrina, who released her latest project No Rain, No Flowers in August, is now working on a new album. “I’ve been writing for about six months on my own stuff,” she revealed. “Definitely some sort of project album is in the works. But also a lot of collaborations.”
