2 Chainz and Amerie Perform 'Rule the World' on 'Ellen'

2 Chainz ruled the stage during his appearance on “Ellen.”

The Atlanta rapper performed his single “Rule the World” during Wednesday’s show. While Ariana Grande couldn’t make it, he was joined by special guest Amerie for her first televised performance in years. Standing in front of his signature yellow crate, Tity Boi handled the bars, while Amerie belted out the soulful hook.

The song, which appears on 2 Chainz’ latest album Rap or Go to the League, samples Amerie’s 2002 song “Why Don’t We Fall in Love.”

While she’s remained out of the spotlight, Amerie returned to music in October with her double project, 4AM Mulholland and After 4AM, her first release in nine years.

Backstage, 2 Chainz posed for photos with Amerie and her 1-year-old son River Rowe, who didn’t look too happy to be photographed. “Hahaha 1 luv @amerie I appreciate you lending me a helping hand for @theellenshow !!” said 2 Chainz. “Congrats on the little guy I can’t imagine what he was thinking in this pic hahaha.”
