DaBaby Arrested in Beverly Hills for Alleged Gun Possession

DaBaby was arrested for gun possession in Beverly Hills.

The “Rockstar” rapper was leaving a designer store on Rodeo Drive with three other men on Thursday (Jan. 7). Just as they were about to drive off, multiple cop cars surrounded their vehicle, according to TMZ.

The Beverly Hills Police Department tells E! News that a security guard from the Gucci store called authorities around 5 p.m., claiming that he witnessed one of the men walking on Rodeo with a “handgun in his waistband.”

DaBaby and his crew were detained while officers searched the vehicle and discovered one handgun. The 29-year-old rapper was arrested for carrying a loaded firearm, a misdemeanor. Cops initially detained everyone in the car, but DaBaby was the only one taken into custody. In video footage, he can be seen in handcuffs while standing on the sidewalk.

“Police made contact with the group after they entered a vehicle and were preparing to leave the area. An investigation followed and a 9MM handgun was found in the vehicle,” says a spokesperson for the Beverly Hills Police Department.

In January 2020, DaBaby was arrested for alleged battery after he got into an altercation with a club promoter who he claims shortchanged him on the $30,000 he was owed. The Miami-Dade Attorney’s Office dropped the battery charge in March.
