Jacquees Addresses Removal of His Remix to Ella Mai's 'Trip'

  /  09.26.2018

Jacquees fans are tripping out after Ella Mai reportedly removed his remix to her “Trip” single.

Earlier this month, the Cash Money crooner released his “Quemix” to the song on YouTube and SoundCloud. It instantly became a fan favorite and racked up millions of streams before it was suddenly pulled due to a copyright claim from Mai’s team.

Jacquees addressed the song’s disappearance by retweeting an article from SA Breaking News and using a series of crying face emojis.

T-Pain, whose remix to Mai’s “Boo’d Up” remains online, claimed that Jacquees was making money off his remix, which Jacquees denied. “Nigga no I didn’t lol hell you talm bout my brother,” he responded. “I put it on SoundCloud and YouTube you know my game ain’t cap I love Ella.”

Ella Mai has not addressed the song’s removal. However, T-Pain’s “Boo’d Up” remix, which dropped in July, is still available on Audiomack and has over 1 million streams.

But there’s no love lost between T-Pain and Jacquees. “Me and @Jacquees gon be good forever. cool out,” Pain told fans who attacked him on social media.

Ella Mai’s “Trip,” which is currently No. 21 on the Hot 100, is the first single from her upcoming self-titled debut album, due Oct. 12.

UPDATE: Ella Mai’s label boss, Mustard, has addressed the removal of Jacquees’ “Trip” remix. He denied that Ella sent a cease and desist and that it was her label, 10 Summers.

“When you monetize content you don’t own you are stealing and no one steals from 10 Summers,” he wrote on Twitter. “Ella had no say in the matter and any platform reporting any differently is spreading falsities.”
