Jay-Z

Jay-Z has one up on Elvis. The rapper’s latest album The Blueprint 3 has shattered a record previously held by the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll.

Based on sales figures from Nielsen SoundScan, Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 moved over 476,000 copies in its first week of release, easily giving him his 11th No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

The Blueprint 3 pushes him ahead of Elvis Presley as the solo artist with the most No. 1 albums in the 50-plus-year span of the Billboard 200. Hov is second only to the Beatles, who have 19 chart-toppers, with the most No. 1 albums among all acts.

The Blueprint 3 wasn’t the only Jay-Z debut this week. The Blueprint Collector’s Edition, Def Jam’s repackaging of the original Blueprint and The Blueprint 2, enters at No. 30 with 14,000 units sold.
