Rihanna Arrives at ECHO Awards, Sets Billboard Record

Rihanna goes green in a form-fitting bodysuit on the red carpet at the 2010 ECHO Awards at the Palais am Funkturm in Berlin, Germany, on Thursday (March 4). The pop star will perform her latest single “Rude Boy” on the show, which also features a performance from Sade (“Soldier of Love”) and a tribute to the late Michael Jackson.

RiRi breaks a chart record this week as “Rude Boy” enters the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8, becoming her 14th Hot 100 hit. According to Billboard, this is the most Hot 100 Top 10s by a female artist since the start of the last decade.

    At this point all the hate needs to stop, the people who said Rated R flopped made themselves look like fools when it hit platinum status in less than 2 months. Rudeboy just hit #8 on billboard hot 100 which marks Rihannas 14th top 10 hit. Shes holding the record so until Beyonce sees that dont say shit and bring up Bees name in a Rihanna post. thank You.

    This was truely Rihannas day!

    She set that incredible top10 record! Which wasnt the only record she broke, she also had the greatest airplay gain for a 2nd week in a row and the greatest gain over all! That hasnt been done since 2006 when beyonce did it with irreplaceable!

    Rude Boy has climbed back up to #2 on itunes!

    And Rihanna just gave an amazing performance of Rude Boy at the Echo Awards with two MASSIVE dancing robots!

    Umm @Jay how do ‘Run This Town’ and ‘Live Your Life’ not count as her songs:

    1. ‘Run This Town’ was originally recorded by Rihanna solo for ‘Rated R’
    2. Rihanna’s section for ‘Live Your Life’ was written especially for her by Makeba Riddick

    Besides, would either song be as popular minus her? Umm no…

    @Jay: Sorry, but Rihanna made those songs #1 hits. Just imagine those two songs without Rihanna…You can’t. She made “Live Your Life” and “Run This Town” a hit. Those songs are defintiely her songs. Besides, “Run This Town” doesn’t say feat. Rihanna. It says Jay Z, Rihanna and Kanye. Those songs are Rihanna’s. And obviously, according to Billboard, they DO count as Rihanna hits. Half of Ludacris’ hits are featured but he still is attributed to 14 Hot 100 Top Tens.

    @Jay. You cannot compair Beyoneces suscess to Rihannas for the mere fact that she came out of a highly sucessful group. Rihannas first album did comparable to Destinys Childs first album. Beyonce came out guns blazin on her first solo effort and had a slew of top tens, because she was already a household name. The odds of that happening to someone straight out the box is verry rare. Rihanna has gotten better and better with every album. She has not been in the game for that long and in such a short time to be even in the same rank as beyonce is a big accomplishment.

    Will not even respond to the Keri comments because she cant seen to get a hit to save her life. I really feel bad for her.
