Rap-Up.com || Kelis’ ‘Flesh Tone’ CD Unwrapped

Kelis’ fifth studio album Flesh Tone doesn’t come out in the U.S. until July 6, but fans overseas can get their paws on the CD starting today. Check out a couple scans from the artsy packaging shot by famed photographer Rankin. The PETA foe gets down on all fours in one photo and sparkles in a crystal-studded dress and headwear in another image.

This album artwork is indicative of the way Kelis pushes beyond the bounds that frame mainstream artists into certain categories of style and virtue. I love the half animal/human shot. She is paying homage to the evolution of mankind, in association with the change of her musical stylings.

Haters never seem to amaze me with your hate. Anyway Kelis looks amazing & I just brought my 5 copies and I love the booklet along with the album. Kelis outdid herself with this album. Everything about it screams icon and it reminds me of when Madonna did her dance debut back in 1999.
