The hot topic of conversation in music industry circles as of late is Drake’s forthcoming R&B mixtape It’s Never Enough. Veteran crooner Tank confirmed that he received a call to do some work for the upcoming project, yet little else is known of what’s to come.
A track titled “What If I Kissed You” made its way around the blogosphere this month, sparking rumors that the song could possibly appear on the Toronto MC’s tape. However, it seems to only be a reference track Drizzy recorded with production duo Stargate. Check the Thank Me Later star on his crooning tip after the jump.
@phoenix_wright i agree with u…i mean it was good…but like u said he needs to switches up his tones a little bit…its gonna sound bettar!! but I LIKE THE SONG!!!
i LOVE the stargate production…i love it so much that i wish he didn’t do a song to it because he didnt do it justice and Phoenix_wright is RIGHT his tone sounds weird and kinda monotone
Ok, I’m not the biggest Drake fan out there, hell I’m mostly a skeptic but there’s something about this song that’s addicting. I think Drake did his thing on it, I know it’s a reference track but if it was produced as a Drake track it would have been fucking amazing.
i agree. he needs to do the singing and change his tone like in miss me, find your love, or fireworks. Too hook everyone at first listen. Maybe he was trying something new?
Nothing wrong with being multitalented, but Drake’s a rapper, he’s doing what Kanye and Lil Wayne done now… all we want is rap and he’s a good rapper. Oh well we still got Em and Weezy.
The tone in his voice is sorta innocent compared to Best I Ever Had & Find Your Love. I like it. It shows more depth in his character.
BTW, Weez C Wayne, the hell you talkin’ ’bout “first aston marton music”? He killed that one verse in that song. Whole reason I liked the song more is because of that one verse.
when something is a reference track it is normally another singer singing a dumbed down melody for someone else to record for themselves to come back later and reference for melodic style (in case they forget)

Like the beat, but his voice kinda lame on this one. Hope he switches up his tones more often on that mxtape.

This song has a sexy beat and vibe. I really like Drake’s singing voice… almost better than his rapping!
