Dr. Dre goes up in smoke on “Kush,” reportedly from his long-awaited album Detox. Enlisting his highness Snoop Dogg on the ode to chronic, Dre raps about burning his blunt down to the stub on this piano-heavy jam, which features Akon crooning on the chorus. “Still I am/ Tighter than the pants on will.i.am,” jokes the Doggfather on the second verse. Where’s the funk…where’s the soul. He leaked it just to see what the feedback would be…I hope this joint isn’t on the album, or maybe it’s an album filler. It’s ok at best…Dre’s beats used to give the listener goosebumps, but this song.
