Mary J. Blige Bares Her Soul in Seoul
Mary J. Blige trekked the globe to play her first show in Seoul, South Korea, last night, gracing the stage at the Grand Peace Palace in Kyung Hee University. Shining in a full-length black bodysuit, knee-high stiletto boots, and black shades, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul performed hits from her oeuvre while fronting a few backup dancers and singing from behind an illuminated microphone stand.
“Thank u Korea 4 an amazing night and a warm Welcome!!! My first Time here!! Felt like home!!! God Bless y’all!!!” the humbled songstress tweeted after the performance.
MJB has been in the lab working on her 10th studio album with hitmakers including Kevin Cossom and Danja. “Everything that I’ve done feels really good,” Danja recently told staging-rapup.kinsta.cloud. “Great tracks, funky, you can dance to it. Some is a hybrid of 808s with very heartfelt, soulful piano lines on top of them. You dancing and you in the club, but you kinda feeling a certain way at the same time. Very emotional topics and kinda classic Mary in 2011.”
