Rap-Up.com || New Music: Aubrey O’Day

After being fired by Diddy, Aubrey O’Day goes at it alone on “Automatic,” the first single from her forthcoming solo debut, due on SRC Records/Universal Motown. The former Danity Kane diva debuted the song live last year, but the electro-pop party anthem was officially released to iTunes following the season finale of her Oxygen reality show “All About Aubrey.”

“It’s the first song I recorded for my solo project because I wanted to represent all the people who don’t feel the need to go all out to get attention,” stated Aubrey of the Adonis production. “This song is for everyone who automatically commands attention whenever they walk into a room! Everything they do is ‘Automatic’!”

How does Aubrey fare without the rest of the girls? You be the judge.

I dont think anyone is certain why the label that is backing her made her push this as first single. Although the song is good it isnt strong enough to go number 1. Maybe the Label executives wanted to test her marketability before they invested any further in her which is kinda dumb… If they would have allowed her to release “Hitchiker” as her first single it might have been more logical.

They are testing what her fanbase is cause i said its not a strong song but u gotta give her props for breaking top 40 on itunes.
Hitchhiker or GoodbyeHeartbreak would SLAYY the charts.

Btw she didnt even finish her album. Src is listining to the songs she recorded before and she will be recording more songs so this is just a logical choice as a buzz single.

Why are people saying “…with out any promo”? The song as the theme tune to a cable TV show that ran for 6 week consecutively with between 350,000-750,000 weekly viewers for the Monday episode alone. Not only that but she released snippets of this months prior that had small media buzz. Releasing the single hours after a drama, dk, diddy showdown hyped finale didn’t hurt either.

Aubrey is smart. She played safe and got the dk fans on board by releasing music are already familiar with from DK. To them, Aubrey is flying the DK flag so she will get their full support from the jump.

I rate her majorly but I am disappointing with the level of staged for sympathy provided in her show. If your gonna brag about being the only real artist/tv star out then be just that. Any real Aubrey fan knows about Aubs from MTB to now will know her moms has been on this ride with her since firing day. Why Aubrey concocted this rift is beyond me. Stop talking about beating Diddy….Girl he is your past…OR IS HE? The song aint it for me. I am a lover of music that is more than just 15 min fad type music.

THIS SONG IS REALLY GOOD. Its catchy as hell, and it may sound like a Danity Kane song, but the only reason it sounds Danity Kane-ish is because she was pretty much the lead POP vocalist in the group. Whenever there was a pop song, she was always featured the most throughout the song. This song is already doing really well cracking top 20 on itunes, shes a smart business woman and its only the beginning.

I think this will do good on the charts. It fits right into today’s mainstream music. At some point I did feel like I was listening to Girlicious, though. Aubrey did a decent job on this track, but she still needs to find her OWN signature voice. This sounds like nothing the next girl couldn’t do. But I actually liked it, wouldn’t mind dancing to this in the club.

Bravo Aubrey broke top 20 on itunes. This boss bad girl never gave up after being fired by diddy. She had a dream and never let it die. She passed diddy on itunes and made some noise. regardless if you dislike the song others do and she made money off of it, a lot of money, had a show and now has a contract for a SOLO artist. Instead of hating on her how about being inspired by her for NOT giving up and being persistent until her dream was reached. That is a BOSS bitch and a star! Anyone can do it also, but MANY don’t because they give up not either knowing how to succeed or giving up at the first road bump.
