Toni Braxton dances her troubles away on her sizzling new single “I Heart You,” which she wrote and produced herself. The Grammy-winning diva melts the track with her sultry vocals while burning up the dance floor.
“When I wrote this song I was thinking about the feeling you get when you walk into a club and you hear the melody,” said the star of WE tv’s “Braxton Family Values.” “You feel the beat and you just know it’s going to be a good night.”

@listen to me, umm its a different genre of music.. a lot of people like it and its a lot of money in it because its supported by people who buy music.. sorry but its much more to music than just rap and rnb.. everybody is not stuck in that box, some people like a lot more

@b, ..or maybe the the OP is just tired of everyone jumping on the electro pop/club scene and not ‘stepping out the box’ as u say and going against what the status quo is of today which is electro/pop. Trust, there are plenty of ways of thinking ‘outside the box’ than taking the dance route. Stop using that ‘innovative’ speech as an excuse for artists just following trends.

@shion, eh to each its own.. some people should stop being so concerned with the music a free person chooses to make.. we dont know what these artists like, and what music they exposed too.. if one wants to go they dance route they can, she can make country, and opera if she wants.. then u the consumer has the choice to listen and find the genres u like.. people in a box always think that everyone is following trends, but a lot of us can enjoy it all… *cues electropop playlist*

@b, No, ppl are just calling it how they see it. Do you think many of these artists would b doing mainstream electro/pop if it wasn’t popular? Where were all these artists when dance/electro/pop music was underground? Whether u want to believe it or not, dance is the train to follow and many artists are boarding whether they are inspired or not. And just because some notice the trend and may not like the direction or like that so many artists are taking its route, doesn’t make them any less eclectic than the ppl who do, it just means they are aware of what’s going on and would like more artist to try something different other than what the majority is doing. But of course, every artist has the right to choose what they want to make, but it is also our right as consumers to question and critique what they are doing and if we feel they should go in that direction. Whether either party chooses to listen to one another’s opinion is a different story.

@shion, RnB fans don’t support the RnB artists. They’d rather bootleg and steal music than buy a CD and go to concerts. Toni should have sold out a long time ago.

@Chris, First off Chris, dnt generalize what a whole group of fans are doing because in all actuality u do not know. The media would like for you to believe that to cover up the fact that majority of R&B artist who stick to R&B do not get the same promo like ppl who go the pop market. Fact. There is a market for it but few labels and artist are tapping into it cause either their too lazy or scared to go that extra mile and want that quick dollar. Second off, where did I say she couldn’t do dance music? All I said was some of us would like to see more artist stop jumping on the dance/pop train just because its popular and do something truly different and innovative and quit hiding behind dance music as a cope out of innovativeness when they are really just following trends. But she and others can do whatever they want.

@H-Town, that is how I feel. I love the slow parts in which I was waiting for because me and toni are the same age, we are the true fans who would buy the music if she gave us the true Toni. Seriously she does not do the club hoppin like back in the day. So why do a club song. My son is 18 says Toni goes hard because he loves mainly her 1st two albums and he was looking forward to her single but felt a little disappointed with this whole electro-pop mix.

@Lamar, WTF makes you believe that? She has said in interviews that she (Toni) and her husband Keri are writing and producing it themselves. She is using The Collectives as her management. That’s a smart move on her part since she’ll be able to keep the bulk of the money. It was nice of her to give “I heart you” remix as free music to her fans. You are getting some wrong information and spreading it around! Please check your facts.

WOW! Not what I expected but I’m totally feeling this! Toni is smart to go the Electro-route as none of the previous singles from her last 2 albums cracked the top 10 of the R&B charts plus so many R&B records sound the same these days that I’m afraid she’d get lost in the shuffle once again.

@DJInVincible74, actually, it’s the electro dance music that all sounds exactly the same, and a lot of artists are just following the trend and getting lost in it b/c that’s what’s “hot” at the moment. At least with RnB, artist show their true artistry and put forth a lot more effort in their songs, as well as creativity…although i do like dance music, it’s becoming “overly-saturated” and it’s lacking all of those elements that allow the artist to be unique and creative, mainly because it all sounds the same, and they’re just mainly party songs with no depth or concept at all. I want real music again…i miss the 90′s :(

@SdotB, I totally agree. I use to love dance/electro/pop back in the day. It was sooo much better and creative underground before commercial took it and strip it of its potential and made it sappy and oversaturated.
But that’s what happens when u popularize things *shugs*

@SdotB, I guess we all have different opinions as R&B and Hip-hop records used to have a lot more originality to them IMO and for the last decade, most of them sound similar. Great artists like Deborah Cox, Tamia, and Whitney Houston were shunned by listeners in favor of the current song from the hood featuring the Rapper du jour spitting the usual verses about creeping, woman beating, or shooting their opponent over some sluggish beat that the last 3 songs on the radio contained. I remember when R&B radio played House music and offered a lot more variety and uniqueness. Now days, every things a ballad or a thug anthem and that’s why R&B and Hip-hop records don’t do anywhere near as well on the Billboard Hot 100 as they did 8 years ago. The average American is board of them.
As for Electro music, not all of it is about partying. Take for example Katy Perry’s “Part of Me”, Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger”, Rihanna’s “We Found Love”, Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close” or Neon Hitch’s “F_ck You Better”. They’re all about relationships whether they’re good or bad.

“I heart you” is awesome and her vocals sound just as good as they ever did! I hope most of her album is dance and pop. She needs to avoid the cheapskate RnB crowd and go for a fanbase that actually buys music. Now that Toni and her husband are writing and producing she won’t get screwed over by record labels. She has finally smartened up and sold! Too bad she tried to stick with RnB for so long. I can’t wait to buy her new CD!

@Jenny, Its a give and take really. R&B heads are oldschool and as a R&B artist you can’t half step with ur music. Just putting things together and calling it R&B is not going to cut it. You got to put your whole heart and soul into the songs and really mean what u say because believe me ppl who understand n know that type of music can tell the difference and will not support. Also, R&B is not supported enough by these labels and for the most part most R&B goes unnoticed because ppl just dnt know based on lack of promotion. Labels are the real ones to look at, not just the fans
