Teyana Taylor silences her critics once and for all with the release of her mixtape The Misunderstanding of Teyana Taylor. After being granted a release from Star Trak/Interscope earlier this year, the 21-year-old Harlem singer finally gives her fans what they’ve been waiting for—15 free tracks.

Wale lends a hand on “Make Your Move,” Fabolous and Jadakiss ride shotgun on “D.U.I.,” and Travis Porter guests on “Choosin’.” Inspired by ’80s and ’90s music including Janet Jackson, Lauryn Hill, and Michael Jackson, the long-awaited project boasts production from Hit-Boy, DJ Mustard, Tone P, Jukebox, and more. Damn this is HOT!!! Teyana has so much potential and if she gets with the right people I can see her doing very well. I like how she incoporated interludes from Wyclef and Lauryn. She’s clearly influenced by them but at the same time has her own style. I’ll definitely be blasting these tracks. Good stuff.

I will say that I wasn’t a Teyana fan. Only thing I like of hers was Marvin’s Room remix (Her Room). I felt that hers was better than Drake and also when she sung Alicia Keys “Unthinkable” which her tone was excellent with emotions. After I downloaded this mixtape, I Will support her. She has a gift and she is worth living out her dreams. Excellent mixtape.
