Days after shooting the video for “Till I Die” with Wiz Khalifa and Big Sean, Chris Brown drops his brand new pop single “Don’t Wake Me Up” off his upcoming album Fortune (July 3). The electrifying Top 40 record, produced by Benny Benassi and Free School, starts off slow before launching into an all-out dance party, as Breezy sings out in Auto-Tune. It’s a good song, I can’t stand the autotune though, especially not on the hook, he really does sound good without it, I know this, I guess he just wanted an electronic effect on his vocals or something, but still, it doesn’t sound good. Anyway, I still hope it suceeds on the charts however

I freakin love this.So excited for ‘Fortune’ now. ‘Dont wake me up’ will smash in the UK and Australia for sure. Its already being played on radio over here in the UK!

Side note: One of the reasons why i love Chris’s music is that he is able to change his voice. Brandys ‘Put it down’, ‘Sweet Love’, Estelle ‘International’, ‘Mercy freestyle’, ‘B.O.B’s ‘Arena’, ‘Beautiful people’ to ‘All Back’. He changes it up everytime. I really like it :)

1. this leaked months ago.
2. He needs to stop making this generic auto-tuned pop music. He shuld stick to Hip/Hop and r&b, where he is best at. If he is going to make pop music he shuld get pointers from ppl who make real pop music tht isn’t generic, maybe Bruno Mars.
3. If he made a whole album with no songs like this and was strictly r&b and hip-hop i think he could have a perfect album like Confessions,Thriller, ect.

I just think he should be more risky like Usher or Drake and stay true to his genre for the lead single on his cd. If he released Til I Die as the 1st single for Fortune it probabally would have been just as successful or more successful than Turn Up The Music

@Miles, He’s had pop music on his album since his debut, just not as much. ‘Strip’ was the buzz single and it’s R&B. ‘Sweet Love’ is a single and it’s R&B. You said he should stay true to his genre but you wanted ‘Til I Die’ as the first single. That song is Hip-Hop and he’s not a Hip-Hop artist, he’s just getting into that categor. Also, he said himself, he wanted to do music in more than one categor before hand. Now USHER, he has just started to put out pop music. Not about to get into that. Although ‘Til I Die’ was a second single, it’s still a single. ‘Turn Up The Music’ and ‘Strip’ are the one’s slaying at the moment.

@Logic, thats the thing. On his first album he had poppish songs, but it was generic. and He always had hip-hop. Hip-hop doesn’t necessarily mean rap music. Kiss Kiss, was a hip-hop song even though he was singing. As well as Gimme That. I don’t necessarily mean i wanted Til I Die as the 1st single. I was just giving an example. Strip came out almost a year. ppl heard that b4 Fortune was even thought about. I feel as though this cd would get more attention if He released Sweet Love or something like tht as a 1st single.

@Miles, Understandable. Yeah, he had hip-hop artist on those songs but they weren’t considered rap. Rap is rap, period. ‘Strip’ was off his mixtape and ended up being a buzz single but you already know that. Now this singles situation I don’t agree with because if all those songs you named should’ve been his first single, they should be succeeding. ‘Turn Up The Music’ was the first single; that song gave him another top 10 and his first UK no.1 – So I don’t see those other singles being the first single.

@Logic, I think he should have made them the 1st single becuz they would have recieved the most attention. Usually the lead single is always more successful than the singles released afterwards(at least in today it does. it wasn’t like that years ago). Like I don’t think Climax by Usher would chart nearly as high if he made it the 2nd or 3rd single. 80% of the time the 1st single is usually the most successful

If anything ‘TUTM’ was the way to go because its a great song (in my opinion); and I also think that’s where alot of sales came from because it a great song. I consider ‘Climax’ R&B. I was talking about ‘Scream’. Now, ‘Climax’ is a banger but hasn’t been THAT successful and its the leading single. Which goes back to what you just said about most leading singles usually are successful and ‘Climax’ wouldn’t have made it being the second or third.
