Rap-Up.com || Nicki Minaj Dishes on Fragrance, ‘American Idol,’ & Success on ‘The View’

Nicki Minaj spread some sunshine during her first visit to “The View” on Monday morning. Wearing a blonde wig and pink captain’s hat, the newest “American Idol” judge took a seat alongside the ladies and Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas to chat about her “cooky” style, meeting Lil Wayne, her “Pink Friday” perfume, and joining Mariah Carey on the “Idol” panel.

“It’s going pretty good,” she said of her “Idol” experience thus far. “Of course I worked with Mariah very early on in my career so I’m really grateful that she gave me that look very early on. And she’s really, really funny.”

A grateful Nicki reflected on her success while showing off her perfume bottle. “As a little girl growing up in Southside Jamaica, Queens, if anyone would have told me that I would have my own perfume one day and be able to inspire young black girls everywhere to go in Macy’s and Nordstrom and see their face staring back at them, I would have never believed it,” she said.

Her glam squad also helped make over a “View” intern and super fan named Sade, who rocked a pink wig and tutu like her idol.
