Brandy Salutes Whitney Houston with Dance Medley at Album Release Show

Brandy

Brandy celebrated the release of her sixth album Two Eleven with some of her most loyal fans during a concert at Best Buy Theater in New York City last night. The R&B diva also took a moment to pay homage to her idol Whitney Houston with a dance medley that included “I’m Your Baby Tonight,” “How Will I Know,” and “I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me).”

“I just want to take this time to take a moment of silence and give Whitney some silent love right now,” she told the crowd. “She is and will always be the greatest voice of all time. I’ll forever love her and forever miss her. Two Eleven is my way of tributing her and solidifying the bond that we had when she was alive and the bond that we will have for the rest of my life. I will just continue to contribute to her legacy.”

Watch her tribute her idol and perform hits from her catalog—from “I Wanna Be Down” to “Put It Down.”

She killed this performance, one of the few artists out there that can move and sing and sound AMAZING at the same time.
real talent, she deserves to win.

Brandy without Darkchild is like Janet without Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis…it just does not work..

She sounds like EVERYONE else on this new album…Her Rico Love tracks sounds like Teairra Marie leftvoers…and Sean Garrett tracks sounds like Britney Spears rejected songs…

@yep!, are u trying to say that Britney would have sung these songs like Brandy does?

    DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

Bangladesh songs has his signature production but Brandy’s unique style. None would have sung them like her.

I was there, she did incredible. The whole venue was sold out (with the Sold Out marquee on the outside of the building in NYC). Everyone sang along. She sounded amazing live, I didn’t know she was that good and she danced and maintained great control of her voice. She’s def one to keep watching. Proved herself to be one of the greatest overall entertainers of her/our time.

@yep!, but he did the last album and people didn’t care for that sound.
Rico Love is pretty cliched but Brandy as a vocalist makes sure it doesn’t sound like everyonnne else as you said. Her stacked vocals /harmonizing with herself which is trademark Brandy and those runs , …who else would’ve /could’ve sang “Wildest Dreams” or “Without You” or brought that earnestness to “No Such thing as too late”? Everyone you say….like?

Everyone today is going into dance pop, this feels half old school , half futuristic, all r&b. …

I never really focused too much on Brandy’s live performances in the past but seeing these clips make me appreciate her so much more. She can put on a good show. She sings, dances, has confidence and interacts with the crowd well. Her album has been on repeat for the past couple days. I LOVE IT!

Brandy is where she is because she and brother Ray gave Whitney Houston cocaine the night Whitney fell and died- the cocaine she and Ray sold to Whitney the previous three times gave Whitney bad headaches. Murder to get your money into Brandy’s pocket? Singing only one of Brandy’s talents?
