New Music Premiere: Stacy Barthe f/ Rick Ross - 'Hell Yeah!'

  /  02.01.2013

Hell Yeah!

You may not know her name yet, but that’s about to change. Signed to John Legend’s Homeschool Records/Motown, Stacy Barthe has been working behind the scenes, writing for superstars including Britney Spears, Katy Perry, and Rihanna (“Cheers”). The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter’s vocals can also be heard on “Sorry,” T.I.’s collaboration with André 3000.

With three EPs already under her belt including last year’s In The Inbetween, Stacy debuts “Hell Yeah!”, a soulful record produced by K. Roosevelt of Hit-Boy’s HS87 camp.

The Brooklyn native shares her pain and imagines a brighter tomorrow as she reflects on the harsh realities of the world, while Rick Ross remains optimistic on his guest verse.

“We’re just trying to live right with the devil all in the way,” sings Stacy. “They say we livin’ in hell here, hell yeah/ When will all this senseless violence end? When will it be safe for people to live again?”

The song is set to appear on her upcoming EP P.S. I Love You, due on Valentine’s Day.
