Last Winter

J. Cole’s Dreamville label celebrates its first release with Last Winter, the debut album from Queens rapper Bas. In addition to appearances from Mack Wilds and K-Quick, Cole guests on two tracks including “Lit” and “My Ni**a Just Made Bail,” a narrative about misfortune, ingratitude, and fleeting redemption.

Cole spits a truthful verse and sings the hook, which borrows from En Vogue and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic.

“Free your mind and everything will follow,” he sings over the guitar riff.
