D∆WN Covers Adele's 'Hello'
Adele’s new album 25 arrives today. In honor of the release, D∆WN pays tribute to the British singer with a cover of her No. 1 single “Hello.” With help from producer Swagg R’Celious, she reinterprets the emotional ballad, making it almost unrecognizable.
“I’m always skeptical about doing covers,” D∆WN told Pitchfork. “If I do them, I usually take them and morph them into my own. For example, when I covered Katy Perry’s ‘Dark Horse’ my producer and I sat down to create a distinct sound for the track. Recreating ‘Hello’ was no different because I had the urge to cover it in my own way. I just couldn’t resist a record that was so well-written.”
Just last week, D∆WN released her new song “Hollywould” off her upcoming album The Red Era, due in early 2016. You can also catch her performing live at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on Dec. 15.
