Going on two years since his debut Trapsoul, Bryson Tiller says his sophomore album True to Self is finally done.
On Wednesday (April 12), Pen Griffey made the big announcement. “sophomore album complete,” he tweeted. “i always feel like i got a lot more to say whenever i’m ‘done’ but i’ll save it for the next one i guess.”
Pen Affleck announced his sophomore album True to Self back in January. “im working on this album called True to Self, non-stop until it’s finished,” he wrote at the time. “then it’s yours.”
True to Self follows Tiller’s breakout album, Trapsoul. Released in 2015, the project went on to obtain a platinum certification from the RIAA and a Grammy nomination (Best R&B Song for “Exchange”).
Last year, Bryson released new music through collaborations, including “Keep You in Mind” with Chris Brown, “Love You to Pieces” with Fat Joe, “Drove U Crazy” with Gucci Mane, and “Ima Be Alright” with DJ Khaled and Future. He also dropped his single “Let Me Explain” in October.
