Usher Sued for $40 Million for Allegedly Spreading Herpes
Usher’s alleged herpes scandal continues to unfold.
Over the weekend, a woman identified only as Jane Doe sued Usher for $10 million for allegedly exposing her to herpes. Now, the same woman says she’s tested positive for the STD and is seeking an additional $30 million.
According to TMZ, Jane Doe filed the lawsuit last week, after learning about a new report from Radar Online, which claims that Usher paid $1.1 million to settle a 2012 lawsuit for allegedly spreading herpes to an unnamed ex. In legal documents, Usher reportedly admitted to having Herpes Simplex 2.
On the heels of this report, Jane Doe was reportedly tested for the STD, claiming that she had at least two sexual encounters with the R&B singer, including one without a condom. On Saturday, she received the test results, confirming that she had contracted the virus. Now, she is seeking at least $20 million in punitive damages and an additional $20 million for emotional harm and medical expenses.
Usher has yet to comment on the allegations or reports.
