Rita Ora Opens the MTV EMA

Rita Ora set off sparks during her opening performance at the 2012 MTV Europe Music Awards in Frankfurt, Germany. The blonde bombshell, along with Carly Rae Jepsen and fun., kicked off the show with an explosive performance of “R.I.P.” She emerged from the ceiling in a cage wearing a lacy red catsuit and matching sneakers, holding an umbrella as pyro fell from the sky.

Alicia Keys and Rita Ora Rock the Red Carpet at MTV EMA

Rita Ora

Rita Ora was the belle of the ball at the 2012 MTV EMA in Frankfurt, Germany, on Sunday. Before opening the show, the “R.I.P.” singer ignited the red carpet in a red Marchesa gown with a massive train.

“It’s just so surreal. This year’s been incredible,” said an excited Rita, who is nominated for two awards including Best New Artist. “It’s just so, so nice to be noticed and have fun with it as well.”

Alicia Keys was gorgeous in a green Stella McCartney number and Ludacris was sharp in a black suit. Check out more arrival photos below.

Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, & Jessie J Shine at MTV Europe Music Awards

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga reigned over the 2011 MTV Europe Music Awards at Odyssey Arena in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The international superstar dominated Sunday’s show, winning four awards including Best Female, Best Song, and Best Video for “Born This Way.” She journeyed to the moon to deliver an out-of-this-world performance of her new single “Marry the Night.”

Two-time winner Justin Bieber spread cheer with his Christmas single “Mistletoe” and “Never Say Never.” Love was in the air as Bruno Mars serenaded the crowd with “Marry You.” And David Guetta was joined by Ludacris and Taio Cruz for “Little Bad Girl.”

“I never got to thank Amy Winehouse for breaking boundaries. She set a new standard for British female artists,” said a teary-eyed Jessie J while introducing a tribute to the late Winehouse. The 23-year-old popstress broke out from a vault for “Price Tag” and filled in for Usher on Guetta’s smash “Without You.”

Other winners included Eminem for Best Hip-Hop, Katy Perry for Best Live, and Bruno Mars for Best Push and Best New.
