Rihanna to Guest Judge on 'X Factor'

“The X Factor” is getting an extra shot of star power. Rihanna has reportedly signed on to guest judge on the U.S. edition of Simon Cowell’s singing competition.

Antonio “L.A.” Reid, who signed the pop star to Island Def Jam in 2005, has enlisted her to help him decide which contestants to mentor as the season gets underway, according to TMZ.

She will be in the company of fellow diva Mariah Carey, who will serve as Simon Cowell’s guest, as PEOPLE previously reported.

Rihanna is working on her sixth album and recently did a photo shoot with Ellen von Unwerth, who shot the packaging for Rated R. She was seen sporting a new hair color on the streets of New York over the weekend.

“The X Factor” premieres September 21 with judges Cowell, Reid, Nicole Scherzinger, and Paula Abdul.
