Common

Common touched the “Blue Sky” while shooting the video for the first single off his upcoming album The Dreamer, The Believer last week. The Chi-town lyricist empowered the people with his uplifting words as he filmed scenes at downtown L.A.’s Barclay Hotel. The Parris-directed clip include vignettes of people chasing their dreams.

“We’re able to show the inspiration that the song creates,” Common told Rap-Up TV on set. “Now we’re able to take these vignettes and show people aspiring to get their dreams and that’s really what the song is about, like saying go get it.”

He has also shot a second video for “Sweet” with director Phil the God in Haiti. The album, due November 22, was executive produced by No I.D. and features a collaboration with his G.O.O.D. Music affiliate John Legend.
