Tyga

Tyga scores the highest debut of his career with his latest album Careless World: Rise of the Last King. Despite a recall of CDs, the Young Money rapper still managed to land in the top 5.

Careless World, featuring the hit single “Rack City,” enters at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, selling 61,000 copies in its first week. Sales were less than predicted due to its late availability at physical retailers. An uncleared sample of Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech forced it be pulled and re-shipped to stores. According to Billboard, digital downloads accounted for 83 percent of sales.

Meanwhile, Adele continues her chart reign. After cleaning up at the Grammys and BRIT Awards, the British singer’s album 21 moves an additional 297,000 units. It is now the longest-running No. 1 since Prince & the Revolution’s Purple Rain soundtrack, which held the top spot for 24 weeks.

The late Whitney Houston returns to the charts with three top 10 entries including her self-titled debut (No. 9, 30,000), The Bodyguard soundtrack (No. 6, 47,000), and her Greatest Hits compilation (No. 2, 174,000). Meanwhile, hip-hop duo Chiddy Bang slides in at No. 8 with its debut Breakfast (31,000).
