Justin Bieber Announces New Single 'What Do You Mean?'

  /  07.29.2015

Bieber is back. The pop sensation is set to debut his brand new single next month.

Entitled “What Do You Mean?,” the uptempo track will arrive on Aug. 28, and is the first single off his upcoming album.

He made the announcement Wednesday on “On-Air with Ryan Seacrest.” “It’s fun, it’s summery … Definitely the first single is amazing. I worked really hard on it with a guy named Poo Bear,” he said.

So what is the song about? “Well, girls are often just flip-floppy,” explained Bieber. “They say something and they mean something else. So … what do you mean? I don’t really know, that’s why I’m asking.”

He has been in the studio with Rick Rubin, Kanye West, and Skrillex working on his first album in three years, and says the project is “along the same lines” as his Jack Ü collaboration “Where Are Ü Now.”

“It’s really uplifting, clear, poppy, but cool,” he revealed. “The sounds are super expensive. Skrillex is a genius. He’s super futuristic and I just love his sound. So to be able to incorporate that sound with what I’m doing has been super cool because it’s new and fresh. I feel like no one has done it before. I’m very excited.”

Bieber took to Twitter to get the 30-day countdown started.
