New Music: A$AP Ferg - '$pice Girls'

  /  02.04.2016

The Spice Girls are back, thanks to A$AP Ferg. In the midst of the “When It’s Dark Out” tour with G-Eazy, the Trap Lord unleashes this previously-vaulted track from 2011, an ode to the British girl group who conquered pop in the ’90s.

Ferg uses the mellow banger to rhyme about trying to be as famous as the “Girl Power” posse. He name-checks Victoria Beckham aka Posh Spice, while Mel B aka Scary Spice appears to give him a personal shout-out.

“I’m tryna be as famous as the Spice Girls / Got ’em dancing off beat like them white girls,” raps Ferg.

The Harlem rapper is readying Always Strive and Prosper, the follow-up to his 2013 debut Trap Lord, which has already spawned the Future-assisted single “New Level.”
