New Music: Frank Ocean feat. A$AP Rocky - 'Chanel'
Frank Ocean surprised fans once again by taking over the Beats 1 airwaves to premiere his newest song “Chanel” on the second episode of his blonded RADIO show. In addition to the original, A$AP Rocky joins him on a remix.
With “Chanel” playing in the background, Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye uses the track to confess about his public breakup from Chanel Iman. “Was such a good guy to Chanel,” he sings. “Until she caught me sleeping with Cherelle.”
Along with debuting both versions of the song on blonded RADIO, Frank also played music by Thundercat, J Dilla, Whitney Houston, and DJ Shadow.
He then posted the original song’s lyrics on Tumblr. It features a clever play on Chanel’s logo, which is referenced in the title. “My guy pretty like a girl,” he sings. “And he got fight stories to tell / I see both sides like Chanel.”
Frank launched blonded RADIO last month and teamed up with Migos on Calvin Harris’ single “Slide,” but he hasn’t released his own material since last year’s Blonde and Endless.
