New Music: G-Unit - 'Dead Bodies (Catch a Body)'
G-Unit is back.
Ahead of the group’s upcoming mixtape Power, DJ Whoo Kid unleashes its first track, “Dead Bodies (Catch a Body).”
Over a menacing, hard-hitting beat, Young Buck joins Tony Yayo and G-Unit’s newest signee Uncle Murda. “Behind the steering wheel with blood on my window,” rhymes Buck. “Just ran a rapper over in a brand new Benzo.”
Referencing 1991’s Boyz N the Hood, Yayo adds some lethal bars of his own. “I see dead people,” raps Yayo. “Dead witnesses / Life’s short, we trying to end this shit.”
Meanwhile, Murda flosses ice while reflecting on possible legal ramifications. “It’s bling-bling with all these chains and these watches, ni**a,” he raps. “All them dead bodies got the feds watchin’, ni**a.”
G-Unit has not released an official album since 2008’s T.O.S.: Terminate on Sight. The group’s forthcoming Power mixtape will be hosted by DJ Whoo Kid, who collaborated with the crew on The Lost Flash Drive mixtape last year.
Named after 50 Cent’s Starz series, the new project is expected to drop soon. “All you G-Unit fans will be happy to hear that,” said Whoo Kid.
