Kanye West's 'The Life of Pablo' Merch Nominated for Beazley Design of the Year

  /  08.16.2017

Kanye West might be crafting his next album, but his work on last year’s The Life of Pablo is still being honored.

The album-inspired merch line, a collaboration with Bravado, and 21 pop-up stores have been nominated for London Design Museum’s Beazley Design of the Year award, a prestigious honor that went to IKEA’s flatpack refugee shelter last year.

The highly-publicized merch line is going up against some serious competition, including the Pussycat Project, Ecoalf, Nike’s “Pro Hijab” and Levi’s and Google’s interactive trucker jacket.

London’s Design Museum praised Yeezy’s work and his pop-up shops. “This was the first simultaneous, global pop-up event, spanning the U.S, Europe, Africa, Australia and Asia,” reads the statement. “Each temporary store carried a broad line of Kanye’s Pablo merchandise as well as limited edition designs exclusive to that city.”

All of the nominees will be on display from Oct. 18, 2017 through Jan. 28, 2018. Voting will remain open through January when “a jury of industry experts” will select a winner.
