Jhené Aiko Debuts Trailer for Short Film ‘Trip’

Jhené Aiko is ready to take a Trip. The soulful songstress has just released the trailer for her forthcoming short film, which she co-wrote with Tracy Oliver.

Playing the role of Penny, Aiko finds herself in the woods and near the water, as ocean waves crash in the distance. “Come on this trip with me,” a man pleads with her. Looking into the distance, Penny responds with a sigh and silence.

According to the front page of the script, Trip will also feature original poetry by Aiko. It is still unclear if or how this will be related to her forthcoming album, the long awaited follow-up to 2014’s Souled Out.

Last month, the “While We’re Young” songstress told Playboy that the LP would also be influenced by various journeys. “It’s inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic,” she explained. “I’m at a point where I put it all in the music. It’s a puzzle I want people to put together.”
