Diddy Is Not Changing His Name to Love aka Brother Love

  /  11.07.2017

False alarm. Just days after announcing that he had changed his name to Love aka Brother Love, Diddy says it was all a joke.

Taking to Instagram once again, the Bad Boy mogul issued a retraction. “I’ve come to the conclusion that you cannot play around with the internet,” he said. “Due to an overwhelming response from the media out there, and due there not wanting to be any confusion, I was only joking. Okay? I didn’t change my name.”

He went on to say that he’s still down to be called Brother Love. “It’s just part of one of my alter egos,” he said. “One of my alter egos is Love.”

Over the weekend, while celebrating his 48th birthday, Diddy revealed the new moniker. “I know it’s risky,” he said at the time. “It could come off as corny to some people. I decided to change my name again. I’m just not who I am before. I’m something different. So my new name is Love aka Brother Love. I will not be answering to Puffy, Diddy, Puff Daddy, or any of my other monikers.”

Fans appeared to believe him. After all, this wouldn’t have been the first time he changed his name. The rapper-producer-mogul has also gone by Puff Daddy, Puffy, P. Diddy, and Sean Combs.
