Quentin Miller Corrects Drake's Kroger Line on 'Duppy Freestyle'

  /  05.26.2018

In the wake of Drake’s Pusha-T diss “Duppy Freestyle,” Quentin Miller is weighing in with his response.

On the track, Drake makes reference to his alleged ghostwriter. “And as for Q, man, I changed his life a couple times,” he raps. “Ni**a was at Kroger working double time / Y’all actin’ like he made the boy when I was tryna help the guy.”

The line was inspired by Pusha’s lyrics on “Infrared,” on which he name checks Miller: “It was written like Nas, but it came from Quentin.”

After hearing “Duppy,” Miller responded by correcting Drake, saying he worked at a Publix supermarket and not Kroger. “It was a publix actually…” he tweeted before plugging his new project Crshd Files, Vol. 2 Wdng Crshrs.

Miller was cited by Meek Mill as a ghostwriter behind Drake’s hits including “Started From the Bottom” and their Dreams Worth More Than Money collaboration “R.I.C.O.”

Once “Duppy Freestyle” dropped, Pusha responded via Twitter by referencing Drake’s lyrics: “Tell ‘Ye we got an invoice coming to you / Considering that we just sold another 20 for you.”

Drake shot back with an invoice to G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam for $100,000 for “promotional assistance and career reviving.”
