Tyga Sues Cash Money & Young Money for $10 Million

  /  08.29.2018

Tyga is suing Cash Money and Young Money, claiming they owe him millions.

The “Taste” rapper says he signed a deal in 2009 in which he would produce two albums for Young Money—2012’s Careless World: Rise of the Last King and 2013’s Hotel California.

According to the lawsuit, Cash Money and Young Money agreed to pay Tyga in 2016 all the royalties that he says were owed to him for years, but he didn’t receive anything. He has attempted to get paid, but has been unsuccessful. He is now seeking no less than $10 million.

Tyga claims Young Money shorted him “significant sums,” but he says this is strictly business and nothing personal with Wayne. “No Lil Wayne slander will be tolerated ever,” he tweeted. “That man changed my life.”

In October 2014, Tyga lashed out at Young Money, saying that his album, The Gold Album: 18th Dynasty, was being “held hostage.” He also threatened to leak the project if they didn’t put it out. In June 2015, he released it for streaming exclusively on Spotify and then later on Apple Music via his Last Kings Music label.
