50 Cent Weighs In on 6ix9ine Plea Deal

  /  02.04.2019

50 Cent is speaking out after 6ix9ine struck a plea deal in his federal racketeering case.

The Brooklyn rapper pled guilty to nine criminal charges and snitched on members from the Nine Trey Bloods, implicating them in multiple crimes. One former associate, Kintea McKenzie, was indicted after Tekashi identified him as the gunman in the attempted shooting of Chief Keef in June 2018.

During an interview with DJ Drama on SiriusXM’s Shade 45, 50 Cent was asked whether Tekashi can still have a successful career despite the circumstances of his case.

“I think he can make music and people can hear it, but the original core and base that he tapped into won’t rock,” said 50, who has been an outspoken 6ix9ine supporter and collaborated with him on “Get the Strap.”

Drama pointed out that Tekashi’s fan base was not necessarily concerned about his background, to which 50 agreed. “He would say, ‘You let the little rainbow kid say that to you? You not gon’ do nothing?'” said the G-Unit mogul. “He had a personality and character that’s interesting to watch.”

Fif admitted that he’s unsure what the future holds for his friend. “We in a different space. I don’t know what happens.”

He cited Richard Simmons’ defamation lawsuit against two media outlets that published articles alleging that Simmons had undergone sex reassignment surgery. But a judge ruled that it wasn’t defamation and ordered the fitness guru to pay $130,000 in attorneys’ fees to the publications.

“The court said what? We somewhere new,” said Curtis.

Tekashi is scheduled to be sentenced on January 24, 2020. In the wake of his deal with the feds, he has reportedly become concerned for his family’s safety and has stepped up security.
