YBN Cordae Reveals His Top 5 Rappers
YBN Cordae is a student of the game. While he may only be 21, the XXL Freshman learned from some of the greats.
During a recent visit to “Nick Cannon Mornings” on L.A. radio station Power 106, Cordae revealed his top 5 MCs, dead or alive. He rattled off the coveted list, in no particular order, starting with JAY-Z and Nas.
He went on to name a pair of late legends, including The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur.
For his final spot, he gave it to another late great, Big L. “I’ll give Big L the edge over Eminem,” he explained. “I just fucked with his shit—his cadence and wordplay was just so crazy.”
Nick Cannon praised him for including the renowned lyricist. “That shows that you a real student of hip-hop ’cause even cats my age and in my generation wasn’t up on L like that,” he said.
On Friday, Cordae dropped his debut album The Lost Boy featuring Chance the Rapper, Meek Mill, Pusha-T, Ty Dolla $ign, and Arin Ray.
