Amber Rose & Alexander 'AE' Edwards Welcome Son Slash Electric
It’s a boy!
Amber Rose and her Def Jam executive boyfriend Alexander “AE” Edwards welcomed a son on Thursday night. The baby, who was born at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, was given a rockstar name—Slash Electric Alexander Edwards—inspired by Rose’s favorite band, Guns N’ Roses.
The new father took to Instagram to announce the baby’s arrival, posting a photo of himself kissing his newborn son. “Slash Electric Alexander Edwards.. the world is urs now ❤️,” he wrote before celebrating Rose. “thank u @amberrose for loving me so much that u put ur body thru it 2 bring my sun [sic] in2 the world. I could never be as strong as u. Slash a rockstar.”
The couple received congratulatory messages on social media from friends including Pusha-T, YG, and Tyga, who wrote, “BLESSINGS ON BLESSINGS!”
Slash is the couple’s first child together. Rose also has a six-and-a-half-year-old son, Sebastian Taylor, with ex-husband Wiz Khalifa.
Earlier in the day, the model posted an Instagram Story of AE and Sebastian playing rock-paper-scissors in the hospital while awaiting Slash’s arrival.
Rose, 35, and AE, 32, have been dating since September 2018. The pair went public with their relationship last October at the fourth annual SlutWalk. “He also came into my life at a time where I’ve had enough of the narcissistic, cheating and abuse I’ve endured over the years from my previous relationships,” Rose wrote in January. “I felt so damaged when I met him and pushed him away in the beginning, he has talked me through everything while simultaneously loving me and working with me so I could overcome my fear of loving someone in the most healthiest way again.”
