Kanye West Still Wearing Wedding Ring Amid Kim Kardashian Split
Kanye West is keeping hope alive.
The rapper was spotted wearing his wedding ring amid his split from Kim Kardashian. The photos, obtained by Page Six, were taken in Malibu on Wednesday (Feb. 17) and show the 43-year-old billionaire clad in all-white with his wedding band in clear sight on his left hand.
Kanye reportedly returned to California from Wyoming in January to work on his highly-anticipated collaboration with Gap, which is scheduled for release in the coming months.
Meanwhile, his wife was photographed without her ring while out to dinner at a friend’s house in Calabasas earlier this month. The estranged couple, known for their public displays of affection, did not acknowledge each other on social media for Valentine’s Day, but Kim wore Yeezys in a recent Instagram post.
Despite the mixed signals, the two are reportedly still moving forward with plans to end their nearly seven-year marriage. Kim has hired high-profile divorce attorney Laura Wasser and is trying to figure out an “exit plan that would be best for her whole family,” according to Us Weekly. The couple, who shares four children—North, Chicago, Saint, and Psalm—has been living separately for months and even stopped going to marriage counseling.
“Kanye is not doing well,” a source tells PEOPLE. “He is anxious and very sad. He knows that the marriage is over, and there’s nothing that can be done right now. He also knows what he is losing in Kim.”
While no divorce paperwork has been filed, insiders claim it’s only a matter of time. “There is very little hope of reconciliation,” adds the source. “It would have to be a miracle. But Kanye does believe in miracles.”
