Following the devastating 7.0 earthquake in Haiti, Wyclef Jean immediately jumped into action to help residents of his home country. The former Fugees member appeared on CNN to call for “immediate aid” and ask for assistance in finding his hip-hop artist Jimmy O, who may have lost his life in the quake.

“My urgency right now is really a cry of freedom. We really need a state of emergency like right now,” he told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

You too can help. Clef has set up a number and website to help raise relief through his Yelé Haiti Foundation. Text Yele to 501501 or donate at www.yele.org.
